BIALOWIEZA - EUROPES LAST PRIMEVAL FOREST?

Limited Edition Hand Analogue Prints - Support Greenpeace Today!

Last year, I exhibited my project, 'Bialowieza - Europe's Primeval Forest,' at OEW Vienna. In collaboration with Greenpeace CEE, the series shed light on the significance of this ancient woodland and the looming threat it faces from increased logging.

Prints sales generated €1000 in support of Greenpeace and I was honoured to receive this beautiful certificate and have our collaboration acknowledged in Greenpeace CEE’s annual report.

Exhibition Print Donation

To continue the support of their work in Poland, I am donating a collection of unique limited edition hand analogue prints from the exhibition. There is one print available of each image, measuring 60 x 70 cm, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Varisart.

‘Białowieża’, explores one of Europe’s last remaining primeval forests, encapsulating its fleeting natural beauty against the imminent threat of deforestation. The tension created underscores our dual relationship with the environment: trading its value as a commodity whilst fighting to preserve its uniqueness. Reserved as a hunting ground for Polish kings and Russian Tzars, the forest was for centuries spared the logger’s axe, nevertheless populist politics, a disregard for science and an insatiable demand for raw materials, have left it under existential threat. These windows into the heart of this vanishing ancient landscape invites us to rethink our relationship with nature.

Part of Vienna’s ‘Foto Wien’ photography festival and in collaboration with Greenpeace, the exhibitions goal was to raise awareness of the beauty and ecological importance of the Białowieża forest before it disappears. The large scale, analogue hand prints are limited to an edition of 5 and framed in hand-made hardwood frames, sustainably sourced from storm fallen trees in the Ludwig Reiter Schloss Sussenbrunn estate. Profits directly support Greenpeace Europe’s work protecting old-growth forests around the world.
